Steering Wheel Heating
What is steering wheel heating?
Steering wheel heating makes driving safer and more comfortable during the cold season. This functions heats your steering wheel rim up to a pleasant temperature in no time, even at sub-zero temperatures, allowing you to drive in comfort without gloves. To activate steering wheel heating, simply use the Control Display or configure your BMW's automatic climate control to turn it on automatically.

INCREASED COMFORT DURING THE WINTER.
Do you find a cold steering wheel uncomfortable during the winter? Do you sometimes wear gloves because of this? With steering wheel heating, that will be a thing of the past. This function heats your steering wheel rim up to a pleasant temperature in no time. Added comfort you can feel and appreciate, especially at low temperatures. Steering wheel heating is automatically activated by the automatic climate control. To activate this function manually, simply use your Control Display.
Whether the function is available to you depends on the hardware installed in your BMW. It is already installed ex works and free of charge, depending on your vehicle, giving you even more options to configure your BMW.

HOW IT WORKS
The availability of this feature depends on the hardware installed in your BMW. When you log in at the BMW Store, you are only shown services that you can purchase for your vehicle. If the service is not available, the required hardware is not installed in your BMW.
ACTIVATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Add the ConnectedDrive upgrade to your shopping cart. Enter your payment details and confirm the purchase.
- You will receive an email confirmation after we check your contract.
- The service is then activated in your vehicle – or at the latest the next time you drive your BMW for a longer time (some services also require manual activation in the vehicle). This process may take several minutes.
- If the service has not been activated by the end of your drive, please do the following:
- Use the BMW ConnectedDrive Store in your vehicle to check if it is online. To activate services, the BMW ConnectedDrive Store in your vehicle must be connected to the internet.
- Use the BMW ConnectedDrive Store in your vehicle to check if it is activated. If it shows the status “In activation” for more than 3 days, please contact ConnectedDrive Customer Support.
